Today he sat on a blanket in the front seat of the car because Asti was in the doggy car seat. Bosley rode so well and was calm... we even stopped at a rummage sale and he waited nicely for me while I bought some fun things!

Last Vet Visit

So we are officially DONE! Last trip to the Animal House Clinic! Poor Bozzy is feeling yucky tonight. 2 boosters and a micro chip. His neck is sore. He’s draggy. It’s been lots of pokes and prods the last few weeks. Glad it’s all done! He passed his CVI with flying colors. Here is a pic of him on the way home. Such a cute co-pilot! Tonight he will sleep well and feel better in the morning.

Happy Dad Day!

Checking the tree outside for a squirrel and dressed in his Packer shirt for our Father’s Day party. He loved all the company. He had some crunchy carrots for a snack. Such a GOOD boy! He is so friendly and loves attention from anyone who will give it! 🥰

Neuter day and toy day!!!

Bosley got neutered!!! Yipeeeee!

His bloodwork was perfecto!

His teeth were ground down some in the back but not much tartar and NO cleaning needed!

Another guess in age was 6 by the vet who did his neuter. 

So we have his age all over the place. Lol! The lady at check-out said “he looks younger than that”. So I can’t say what his age really is?!? Only Bozz knows!! Woof!

So when he got home he was all energized. I showed him a squeaker and he PLAYED!!! Wowza! 

First play session with a toy since I’ve had him here.  See video^^^

He ripped the face off the toy. Eesh! 😯

He was so hungry too! He seems to feel great and I’m so happy for him. 

A good day for Bozzy.

Grey day

It’s a grey day today. So rainy. 

A good day to nap! 

We found out on Monday that Bozz is closer to 2 years old than 9 years old! 

He is def not your normal 2 year old Westie. He’s just learning how to use his legs. He cannot jump up on furniture. He is starting to go up the stairs alone. Finally. 

Very slowly Bosley is starting to open up. I think a playful dog would be good to get him moving. He really needs some dog motivation. He is slowly learning to be a Westie and move around more but he still sleeps quite a bit. He has zero clue about toys. 

He has time on his side though which is good. 

 Bozz will get there. 

We love him!

Bosley has made some nice progress this weekend. In the kitchen he no longer needs his belly band. His marking is done. Now in other rooms it’s different. We need to expand his space slowly. He’s doing very well though. 

He also has gone up the stairs without his leash a couple times. He can go down the stairs on his own with no problems but up is  harder for him. It’s funny because most the time it’s the opposite for rescue dogs!!

Bozz needs to gain some confidence. He  shows a bit of a broken spirit at times. Whomever adopts him will need to be very patient and loving with him. I hope after a while a little more fun and happiness shows up in this boy’s face! Life doesn’t have to be so serious. He does get excited when I come home from being away. It’s awesome to see him get his tail wagging!!

Isn’t Bozzy the cutest Packer Backer? After all... the stadium is just down the road! He was a super good boy for his photos. Green n Gold are good colors on Bozzy!!!

Bosley has a habit I’m not too fond of. Haha! I call it pretending he’s a tiger in the jungle. He likes to squirm and hide into my tiger lilies and other perennials and roll. Ummmm nooooo! Stay out of the jungle Bozzy!

He’s starting to meld into the pup-crowd, one of the gang. All dogs here are friends. That’s great! 

Today he made more progress on stairs going up n down! It’s getting less scary. Bozz has never 💩 in the house!! Yay! He is pretty predictable. Paces if he has to go out. So the only thing is his marking and it’s way way way better than day one...but you have to still watch him. I always have Him wear  a belly band in the house. Waiting for neuter day. Can’t come soon enough. :)

Treats

Bozzy (Bosley) has learned about treats! He’s a big fan! He takes them gently. 

He’s also learned the art of TV time snoozin’! 

 I could barely get him off the couch last night to go to bed. Ha! 

He’s a fast learner! 

Bozz is still afraid of doing stairs so we hook him onto a leash to encourage him to be brave. We have to give him guidance and cheers. 

My dogs are hilarious. Yesterday they were running up and down... up and down ...trying to get him off the stair landing… If they could talk they would have said “Follow us Bozz!!!” :)

His very favorite spot is the dog bed in the kitchen. 

He is taking a nappy right now after our morning walk.

First Walk with Me!

Bosley and I walked around the block. He’s going to get lots of practice here because I like to walk around the block a lot… Probably a couple times a day or more!  It will be fun to see him improve!!!

Bos has no fear of lawnmowers or cars or people when we walk; he mostly just sniffs. Every day he will get better and better and before I know it he will be on his way to his forever home!!!

Then I’ll be the one sniffing. 😢 (but happy too) 🙃

Peanuts!!!

Bosley is doing way better today than yesterday. He’s my buddy. My shadow. He does NOT know his name and he’s 9! I’m confused on that! He’s so curious and smells stuff and sticks his nose here and there. Let’s just say he’s EASY to fall in love with!

Morning one

Good Morning!!!

Wow my first selfie and my first full day at my foster home! What’s a foster home?  It was explained to me that it’s the first step in my journey where I start getting all “fixed up.” Like my foster mom is teaching me how not to lift my leg in the house and she’s teaching me all about stairs going up and down and she’s teaching me how to be a good fur-brother to my other fur  brother and sister and not try to jump on their back’s.  Foster mom said my neuter operation will help me with that !!!  I don’t know what that means but I do like help! My foster mom is teaching me that sitting by her on the couch is OK and I like that a lot! She pets me and cuddles me and reassures me that all is well! I feel great today! I like foster homes very very much!!!

Last night I slept in a big cushy crate right in my foster mom’s bedroom!!! It was amazing!!😁

 I woke up startled a couple times during the night and my foster mom said “It’s OK” ...”I’m right here”... and then I snuggled right back to sleep. I slept very well but I do snort and grunt a bit and my foster mom said it’s so cute!  Maybe I sound like one of the pigs on my farm... but I’m not a pig I’m a Westie and a very handsome one at that!  My foster mom was surprise that my teeth look pretty good and I don’t have bad breath at all! 

 Later today my foster mom said we will go for a walk, as long as the sun stays out, and I can’t wait for that !!!  Oh I almost forgot to tell you I ate breakfast today and it was delicious I think I’m going to like breakfast in the kitchen and not outside!  Now I’m sitting on the couch next to my foster mom on a fuzzy red blanket and my tummy is full and satisfied. I can’t believe all this is happening to me but it’s pretty awesome and it better not be a dream ! 

 My foster mom said there’s even better things to come like getting adopted… I don’t know what that means either but if it’s better than this I can hardly wait !!! 😍

Meet Bosley!!!

He has a very CUTE face!

Bosley got shaved down by the farmers who gave him up. Wish they would have let me do it but oh well?!? It will grow!!!

He is quiet while riding and over all did great!!! 

At PetSmart he was quiet and well behaved. 

We purchased a belly band since 

Bosley isn’t neutered or potty trained. It will help make it easier for me in the house. 

Sniffing around the yard. We covered up his bad-fur-day cut with a cute knit sweater! 

He’s over all a smiley boy! 

Super duper sweet and very calm. 

Almost seems like he doesn’t know his name though ? That’s unusual, right?

Bos had a bath too and did very well! He is a good boy and I predict will love being a house dog!!! ❤️

Friday night TV time! He sits behind me... what a goof!

Lesson learned ~

So this morning I left my glasses and new magazine laying on the couch. Tartan chewed my glasses and cover of my magazine. Dang!

So good news is my glasses can be replaced and were an older pair. Magazine will still be readable. Just not as pretty on the outside. 

So be aware... don’t leave your glasses where he can reach them! 🤓

Otherwise he’s doing well. Zero potty accidents anymore. Sleeps on the bed. Still should be crated when you leave him (see glasses) and he’s a love bug! 🐞

Walking the trio!!!

So proud he is that he can walk on leash with the others. What a long way Tartan has journeyed!!! 

I’m proud too! 

Sunny Tuesday!

Tried a walk with a friend today. Tartan started hesitant but ended on a trot and waggy tail. I did not put on his harness but do recommend one right now as when he’s not sure he backs up and his collar could easily slide off of him. The more he practices walking on leash the more confident he will be! The best thing is he’s not into pulling or reacting at anything so he’s going to be a JOY to take out n about!!!

Late Monday...

It’s about 10pm and we are all tired. Tartan is up on the bed. I never put on his belly band any more. He seems fine without it and no potty accidents as long as we let him out in intervals. 

His fun side is emerging and he’s starting to steal laundry, tear up paper on the floor he finds and insists on pulling the blanket out of Asti’s crate! He’s got some mischievous ways after all! Ha!!! Tartan does like dog toys of course... especially those hoofs. I think he’s just not sure what’s a toy and what isn’t. Most of the time he’s the perfect pup and wears his angel halo like a champ!!! I’m curious what he will do with a ball. I’ll try that tomorrow. Stay tuned! 

Oh yes... he’s finally discovered dog beds!!! He is off the floor and on the big dog pillow! Starting to live and enjoy the spoiled life!!! So good to see!!! 

I was very busy today with work and other things so we did not get to take a walk. Awww. Maybe tomorrow?!? Stairs have suddenly become easy peasy and that’s such a relief! All in all we hardly notice he’s here... he has melded into the pack and makes for a very relaxing and quiet  foster pup! 

MORNING UPDATE: Tartan tried to jump off of the bed with the others. Royal belly flop. He forgot to use his legs. Thud!!! 😬🙀

He is home with my husband John. Tartan follows him everywhere and is laying at John’s feet while he works on his computer. What a love!!!

Walking the block

Took a video of Tartan taking a walk. He did very well! He’s kinda slow but will most likely speed it up a bit once he’s got a pal with him. It’s always more fun with a friend.

Btw... he learned to jump up and down from the couches today!!! Oh he’s pretty happy about that!!!
